Public Restroom Reviews #5

Posted by Mr. O on Friday, 28 December 2007 – 1:06 AM

Today’s review is all about a local dining establishment: Pie Pan located at 905 North Park Dr, Evansville, IN.

Odor – 3
It definitely smelled like a bathroom. And one that hadn’t really had a good cleaning recently. There was no air freshener or anything of the sort. It smelled a lot like pee, really, and that was unpleasant.

Cleanliness – 3
In smelling like pee, they also forgot to clean the floors, which is probably where the pee smell came from. Everything seemed a little more dirty than I’m comfortable with, even the sink. Sinks shouldn’t be dirty.

Appearance – 2
This is a small bathroom, and I do mean small. There isn’t enough room for two people to be in there, comfortably. I also mentioned, the floors were dirty.

The room, generally, was dark and claustrophobic. The stall had no real lighting, and the urinal was so close to the wall of the stall that you could all-too-easily miss and hit it. Also, they filled the room with too many decorations, so it was difficult to meander the small, cramped space and actually make it to the stall without feeling like you’re going to knock something over.

Functionality – 7
Everything did work the way it was supposed to. I’ll give them that.

Comfort of Toilet Paper – 3
In adding insult to injury, they didn’t bother even use good toilet paper.

Number of Stalls/Urinals
One stall, one urinal.

I understand that Pie Pan is a small place, and therefore, not really up to normal standards of bathroom cleanliness, but this place was really just ridiculous even compared to Bob Evans. Like I said, it was a small, cramped place, that was one of the most uncomfortable places I’ve even been in.

Like I said, there are only the two things, plus the one sink with a $1 trashcan underneath it that looked like it was on its last legs. The sink was crappy, and the mirror was dirty. The paper towel dispenser was one of those that had the lever you press down, which is nice. I like those.

But everything about this bathroom just screamed “Not a good thing”. It was like they just didn’t care about it. But really, who I am to judge someone else’s — oh wait…

I’m sorry this one isn’t too great, but there just wasn’t a lot to talk about with this bathroom.
